Dissolver of Sugar
by Rumi

Dissolver of sugar, dissolve me,
if this is the time.
Do it gently with a touch of a hand, or a look.
Every morning I wait at dawn. That's when
it's happened before. Or do it suddenly
like an execution. How else
can I get ready for death?

You breathe without a body like a spark
You grieve, and I begin to feel lighter.
You keep me away from your arm,
but the keeping away is pulling me in.

Peacefully in his sleep on December 17, Kevin Brent Bradley, at the age of 48. Cherished son of Dalton and the late Lila Bradley (Timmins). One of a kind brother of Brian and Cheryl Lynne. Devoted and loving father of Brittany. Beloved uncle of Jesse, Evangelynne, Chance and great uncle of Alysha and Aaron. Fondly remembered by many aunts, uncles and cousins. Dear friend of Robert, Randy, Cody the Roadie, Kirk, Steve, Keith, Kerri, Cathy, Ed, Caddy, Mary, Kelley, Lorie, Garth the late Dave and many others. Brent was an accomplished musician, athlete, writer, artist, songwriter and a lifelong Boston Bruins fan. Brent loved making music and his talents will be sadly missed. We will gather to celebrate Brent's life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 22, 2011 at St. James Anglican Church, 225 Edmund Street, Carleton Place. Refreshments and Jam Session to follow at the Carleton Place Legion.

"There are some wounds that time does not erase.
Be kind, everyone is travelling a hard road.
Peace be your journey Brent."

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not here, I do not sleep
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.

I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flights.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there, I did not die.
